I still have mine.  It is a heavy thick ring made of 14k with a dark blue oval stone.

i have only worn it a couple of hours the day I got it,  my DH, who was my then boyfriend picked me up at school and asked if he could wear it on his pinky, so I handed it over to him.  He wore it until it got too small and gave it back to me.

It is a size 4.5, which is a very small ring size for a heavy clunky ring.  It has never been comfortable on my tiny fingers and I never wore it again since that first day.

My boyfriend bought one and I wore his. Back then it was a common way of saying you were exclusive. I must have lost it over the years..

I still have mine.  It was a big deal to trade rings with your boyfriend.  We wrapped yarn around his and he wore ours on his pinky.

I never wore it after high school.  I did not buy a college ring as I received my engagement ring senior year,

Some said they sold their high school rings.  Ours were what was then called vermeil? so the only value is sentimental.

I have 2 identical high school rings.  We ordered and got ours in 11th grade.  I lost my ring and was so heartbroken, my father let me get another one my senior year.  Fast forward several years till our washing machine died.  When they were taking out the old machine to put a new one in, guess what fell out of the bottom of the old washing machine.  Neither one fits today, and I once took them to a gold sale and found out they don't have any gold in them. So, they sit in my jewelry box.

I had a gold one with a rectangular shape. I had a tiny diamond put on top of the crest by a jeweler. I wore it daily for years then it got stolen in college. I missed it. Later Jostens had a Star Trek Star Fleet Academy ring and I was a Trek Geek & was in the local fan club so I bought it! It's gold with onyx. It was a fun replacement & still have it.

My high school boyfriend was two years older and already out of high school and did not buy one.  I knew he would never wear mine so I went to a novelty store in the mall got a cheap necklace with my first name on it.  Slipped my high school ring on that and draped it on his rear view mirror.  I went to where he worked and asked him for his car keys without saying why, nor did he ask.  That day when he left he could not wait to see what I had been up to in his car and it took a few minutes to find my little surprise.  That ring stayed there hanging on his rear view mirror for two years.  Better than a scented Christmas Tree @muttmom

My Nana (moms step mom), bought all of us grandkids our class rings. I am sorry to say mine was stolen when I took it off to wash my hands some place and forgot it. When I went back it was gone. It was a gold class ring with a blue star sapphire in the middle.

PS I wanted to buy my oldest granddaughter her class ring when she graduated last year. (and intend to buy all of my grandkids their class rings) She didnt want one. My middle granddaughter graduates in June 2018. I dont know if she will want one but I will ask her. And I wish I still had my class ring :-(

I passed on getting class rings from both high school and college. I knew I wouldn't wear them after I'd graduated and there was no point in spending the money just to have them sit in a jewelry box.
