Does anyone have a recipe for cinnamon rolls that's really EASY. My mother used to make them from scratch and they were to die for. I want to surprise my husband Easter morning with cinnamon rolls. Thanks.

How "easy" do you want it to be? Making them from scratch isn't complicated, but it does take time and is messy! No way around that. I love the Pioneer Woman's recipe, and I make them every year for Christmas.

I will warn you I can usually make about 7 pie tins out of this recipe. I have successfully cut the recipe in half, but then I don't have as many to give away or stash away in the freezer for later!

There have been some yummy recipes posted here in the Recipe Swap forum. You could do a search for cinnamon rolls and some recipes will come up.

Do you have a bread machine? I make my dough in my bread machine then roll out, fill and let rise. Easy as can be. For some weird reason, yeast and I don't get along. My Mom made the best cinnamon rolls but after many lessons, I just can't get it right. That sounds good. Might have to make some this weekend.

My idea of making cinnamon rolls is the Pillsbury low fat cinnamon rolls that you open, pull apart and bake on a cookie sheet.

I do have a great recipe using their Grands! Buttermilk biscuits for an easy Monkey Bread.

Halved recipe posted fits nicely into a 6 Cup Bundt pan. If you double the ingredients, it can go into the standard 12 Cup Bundt pan.

Monkey Bread

Ingredients:

1/4 Cup sugar-- 1 Tsp. cinnamon-- 1 Can Pillsbury Grands! Homestyle or Flaky Layers Buttermilk biscuits-- 1/4 Cup walnuts, chopped-- 1/4 Cup raisins-- 1/4 Cup packed brown sugar-- 1/4 & 1/8 Cup butter, melted

Method:

1) Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 6 Cup Bundt pan with butter or cooking spray. In a large plastic food storage bag (1 Gal. size), combine sugar with cinnamon and set aside.

2) Separate dough into 8 biscuits, cut into quarters. Toss into bag to coat completely. Arrange in pan, adding walnuts and raisins among the biscuit pieces.

3) In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar & melted butter & pour over biscuit pieces.

4) Bake for 22 minutes or until golden brown & no longer doughy in center. Cool in pan for 10 minutes. Flip onto a plate & serve warm.

Yield: 6 servings

Note: For 12 Cup Bundt pan use 2 cans of Grands! & double all measurements. Cook for 28-32 minutes at 350 degrees with a yield of 12 servings.

Jazzy, thank you for reminding me about that recipe. I had been looking through cookbooks the other day and noticed that one. Later I noticed that Pillsbury Grands were on sale this week but when I was in the store, I couldn't remember which recipe it was that I thought I should buy them for!

Darn those senior moments! {#emotions_dlg.laugh}

You're welcome-- this was a big hit with the kids (young adults) here and it was the first time I made this. A friend wanted an easy recipe for monkey bread without too much fuss and this was the first recipe on google that came up!

This is a pretty basic recipe. Even has a bit of Bisquick thrown in. Enjoy!

CINNAMON ROLLS

DOUGH
2 large eggs
1 packet (1/4 ounce) active dry yeast
1 cup milk, heated until warm
5 tablespoons butter or margarine, melted
3 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1/2 cup Bisquick baking mix
1/2 cup sugar
3/4 teaspoon salt

FILLING
5 tablespoons butter or margarine, softened
1 cup dark brown sugar
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

ICING
3 tablespoons butter or margarine, melted
1 cup powdered sugar

In a large mixing bowl, whisk eggs until frothy. Whisk in yeast, milk, and melted butter and let sit for 10 minutes. Add the remaining Dough ingredients and mix into a sticky dough. Transfer to a well-floured surface and knead, adding additional flour, just until no longer sticky. Return ball of dough to the mixing bowl, cover, and place in a warm place to rise for 1 hour.

On a well-floured surface, use a rolling pin to roll out dough, until it is a large 1/4 inch-thick rectangle. Spread the softened butter on the surface of the dough to start the filling. Combine brown sugar and cinnamon, and sprinkle evenly over the buttered dough.

Spray a 4 quart temp-tations baking dish with nonstick cooking spray. Grab the short side of the dough and roll entire dough into a pinwheel, pressing firmly as you go. Slice rolled pinwheel into 1 1/4 inch thick rounds and place into baking dish. It’s okay if they are touching. You should have enough rounds to fill the dish. Cover and let rise in a warm place for another 30 minutes.

Preheat oven to 400 degrees and bake cinnamon rolls 18-22 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown. Combine melted butter and powdered sugar to create the icing. If icing is hard, microwave 10-15 seconds to soften. Spoon icing over cinnamon rolls while still hot, serve and enjoy!

Pioneer woman's recipe is excellent . Too dangerous for me to have these around. Every now and then I have to stop at Cinnabon and pick one up with extra icing though (:
