I have never seen any at my house, but there are millions of them at our lake place. There is a birch tree in our yard and they crawl out of the ground beside the tree. It looks like a scene from an Alfred Hitchcock movie.
They are really bad and loud. My dogs want to eat them, but they can get sick if they eat too many. We can't sit outside on the deck anymore.
I remember them from 17 years ago too. They are ugly big pesty bugs...gross.
