Re: Church food pantry/giveaway

I ran the food program at the church for years. I don't any more, but I miss it. I miss the people I met, the good it did for so many. We were one of those programs that gave to people in the middle.  Ones that didn't receive benefits but couldn't themselves  out of work, ill or undergoing financial turmoil so bad it was either pay the rent, or buy food for your kids. Luckily I got my food by the pound at Second Harvest so we had had a variety of food, produce, cereal etc, but at th mercy of what was donated. It helped so many people.  I also delivered to many living under the bridge, in back alleys and abandoned buildings.  The stories and the lives you meet I will never forget.  A few touched my life forever, and I think of them now. I am blessed for the experience! I think many people don't realize who falls thru the cracks or why some can't rise above the moment due to life.  I never met one person who received food who was lazy.
