Re: Chronic Illness And The Toll It Takes On Us...

@SandySparkles Your positivity and faith is what carries you through.  When I went through cancer I felt it was my attitude and prayers that got me through it all.  I was fortunate to also have a great support system.   My chemo nurses were so kind and they were amazed with my disposition during treatment.  DH was always with me and would walk around and talk with some other patients that were all alone, as of course we were there for hours on end.  You get to know your counterparts.   My thing was, it is what it is and you just have to get in to the frame of mind of what you're dealing with to get through it.  Just because I was sick I never wanted to bring others down.

I have not been the same since my cancer but I am just thankful to be here, each day is a gift and I wish you all the best, always.

Re: Chronic Illness And The Toll It Takes On Us...

@SandySparkles   I'm reaching through the screen to give you a warm hug. Thank you for your post....it is so uplifting. It is prayers and faith that have helped me make it through it all.  It's not easy and when I feel bad about complaining, I read the story of Job in the Bible. Did you know it was the first book of the Bible ever written? When I read of all his sufferings and complainings and how much God still thought of him...it makes me feel a whole lot better!!

I say similar to my husband who has a tendency to get "annoyed" when driving. But it's so true, we never know if that seemingly rude person's world  just stopped because they received some life changing news etc....you never know so I try my best to give people grace. It's always nice to remind ourselves to try our best in situations like this....

@SandySparkles Sorry you're going through some struggles. You're a kind light on these boards that I appreciate.

"MANY of us face the UNFORTUNATE reality of chronic illness, and must battle the effects of it daily! Some of us have several that sometimes make our day to day simple responsibilities EXTREMELY challenging, and can cause depression! I have several and know this all too well...😐"

Add that to being over 80 and life is a challenge!

Keep on keeping on!

@SandySparkles ............I too have depression, anxiety and fribromyalgia.  I know slowing down is also a natural part of getting older but when the fibro rears its ugly head the aching and tiredness is really challenging.  I just plod on and thank God that I have been granted another day here on earth.

God bless you Sandy

@Imaoldhippie Welcome!🥰 I am SO very sorry to read of how your issues are adversely affecting you!❤️ As you know, the down days of depression can feel so isolating, and make you appreciate the up days ever so much more; especially when symptoms from other illnesses are overlapping!😐I like that you said, "plod on" as that is EXACTLY what we must do!😊

We all have struggles; some are shared here, some not; but it is the kinship of the heart that prevails!💝

God bless YOU!🙏  Please know that I care, and am here if you ever need to chat! You need only tag me!😊

@LindaSal Welcome!🥰 I am SO, sorry for all you have gone through, and THANK you SO much for sharing your touching story of triumph over cancer!!❤️🤗 That insidious disease claimed the life of my DSIL! I watched as she went from a feisty, vibrant, beautiful woman to someone I did not recognize!😔 Her body was just SO weary, and her fighting spirit slowly disappeared.😐 Through it all, she NEVER lost her faith!🙏
