@SandySparkles I'm sorry to hear what you are going though! Chronic illness can really change your outlook from day to day. I agree that chronic illness takes a severe toll on those who unfortunately have it including their families.
My DH got a rare autoimmune illness in 2012 and I thought that he would not live to see 2013. It was a very challenging year visiting so many doctors. None could really say why this happened but we believe that it was chronic Lyme disease that triggered the autoimmune disease. At his worst he resembled a stroke victim. He ever so slowly with various treatments got better than he had been.
However, he has never been the same as he was before his illness. He's better but looks 15-20 years older than he is. Even my mother when she was alive a few years ago asked me who that "old man" was when we spoke via zoom. She didn't recognize him.
So throughout our sixties we didn't get to travel and do the fun things we had hoped to be able to do. Instead his focus was and still is all about getting better....I give him a lot of credit for not giving up! He usually has a better outlook than me. I has taken a toll on me emotionally.
I have gotten the opportunity to travel a bit with my brother and a friend. Our son will come & stay with his dad while I'm gone and I really try not to go for more than a week.
I'm grateful to be able to do a getaway once in a while.

I say similar to my husband who has a tendency to get "annoyed" when driving. But it's so true, we never know if that seemingly rude person's world just stopped because they received some life changing news etc....you never know so I try my best to give people grace. It's always nice to remind ourselves to try our best in situations like this....
@SandySparkles Sorry you're going through some struggles. You're a kind light on these boards that I appreciate.
*Sending hugs and strength to everyone who's having a hard time.

Your posts are always so nice kind and supportive to everyone so I was surprised to hear you are dealing with difficult things some days. You are always so positive but its such a good reminder that we never know what others are dealing with and giving people grace is a little thing we can do for each other. We are all in this together!

@SandySparkles ............I too have depression, anxiety and fribromyalgia. I know slowing down is also a natural part of getting older but when the fibro rears its ugly head the aching and tiredness is really challenging. I just plod on and thank God that I have been granted another day here on earth.
God bless you Sandy
