I rescued a little dog a little over a year ago, and he seems to have a chronic rash. Actually, it's more pimple-like bumps on his stomach. The antibiotic simplicef will control it as long as he's on the meds. When he goes off, the condition returns in about two weeks. Neither the vet nor I want to keep him on permanent meds. We've tried a different antibiotic, and it did nothing.
The skin condition is not affected by weather or season. We've been using a medicated shampoo, and I have changed his diet. The vet says I could take him to a pet allergist. That is bound to cost hundreds of dollars, and I still may know no more than I do now.
Does anyone know what this might be? TIA
