Great picture, @homedecor1!
I can't see it in TN. It's really cloudy.
Lowell Observatory in AZ is streaming footage, including telescope footage. And explanations from expert astronomers. So cool!
Here's a link to their live stream on youtube: https://youtu.be/XrRcfaWutLQ

It is visible here. We are very fortunate to have clear skies tonight. It has been cloudy all day, but the clouds moved out just around sunset.

We went out as it was so clear and yes, could see it with the naked eye. Brought out the telescope and my dads' super duper binoculars (space and the stars was his field) and let me tell ya....WOW.
Youngest said it best: "No matter how bad 2020 was, I've been a part of history that kids my age will someday read about and maybe ask me about it. This star...these planets were the best way to top it off this historical year".
Indeed, my little one, indeed.

We can’t see it because of our trees 🌳.
But, tomorrow we are going to a nearby field and try again.
Happy for your sightings, Thanks for sharing!

@Drythe We went to the Food Lion parking lot .LOL.Got away from trees.
Had clouds all weekend but cleared up after lunch.
Got our not so good binoculars but guess what? There they were wiggling around ! Then for a second you could make a ring around Saturn!! Man oh man.
Not a good view mind you ..we were past time 6:30 EST. But still...rings!!
Then this lady pulls up & says she forgot all about it until she saw us with binoculars. Wants to know can she use our binoculars talking with her mask pulled down!
I said we couldn't see anything.

Happy to read about those who were able to see this.
Long day for us so we didn't go outside; trees would not give a clear view so we will try again tonight.
Amazing that this closeness hasn't happened since 1226, although they do align through the decades, just not as close.

Thank you HomeDecor for the photo! It was cloudy here in PA. Hard to believe these two heavenly bodies are 450 million miles apart.
What facinates me is that since the discovery of Pluto, it has not been 'around our sun' even one time. We are but a 'dot' on this earth.

Did not see anything. Guess i will wait forever now.

The "star" will still be visible until Dec.27.
It has been visible for a few nights, Dec. 21 is just the night they are the closest to each other.
The planets will be drifting away from each other, not toward each other. Worth another try!
