Re: Christmas Movie Recommendation

[ Edited ]

I also enjoy "The Bishop's Wife," just a perfect movie, I think.  Quietly joyous.  "Christmas in Connecticut" always appeals, too.  For some reason, any Jean Arthur movie also seems Christmasy to me, even if it is in August.

I also really like to screen "Home Alone" every year.  It's every child's dream and nightmare, and it's so well done (though a bit too violent for me).

For example, "You filthy beggar""  said on screen in a movie that Kevin uses to intimidate the intruders.

My then-tiny nephew, angelic looking with his curls and blue eyes, was approached when in the grocery store with his mom by another shopper who stroked his cheek and said, "What a beautiful child" in a way I guess he found scary.  He replied  (having just seen "Home Alone"), "Get away from me, you filthy beggar!"

I love all the ones you mentioned plus The Preacher's Wife with Whitney Houston (I have seen the movie twice in the last 2 weeks).  And, I still like the old Scrooge movie.  Hopefully, White Christmas will be coming on shortly as we are only 2 weeks away from Christmas.  Cat Very Happy

There is a Christmas movie I can't recall the name of, its a comedy. It stars Jimmy Durante, and others. There is a squirrel in the movie and its so funny, I'll see if I can google it. It's called

the Great Rupert
