Will you be sending cards this year? And have you shortened your card list? Over the last few years some people that we exchanged cards have stopped sending. A few only are sending holiday wishes via Facebook.

My card list to send is around 17 now. I can understand since postage is increasing sadly. I will still send to these people and if I dont get a card I will stop sending too.  I think it is sad these days that many are not sending cards of any kind anymore and letters are a thing of the past. I actually have a few pen pals that write actual letters lol.

At one time, my list was well over 150, separated into business and personal. It shrank considerably over the past 5-6 years to the point where it’s unlikely that I’ll be sending any. I’ve neither the time or the inclination to bother with it.

@OhioAngel   It makes me very sad too, it was a big part of Christmas. We would look forward to the mail everyday and the cards got hung up. My list went from 55 to now 22. I will stop sending if people do not send this year. Yes it is $$ but we only do it once a year.

I usually mail out about 25-30 cards.  Sadly, every year another elderly relative is gone, so my list slowly shrinks.  I don't care if I get a card in return or not..I enjoy sending the cards and writing notes in them.

In the past I have handed out cards to sibs and children at our family Christmas party.  We probably won't have the party this year, so I will be mailing those.

I always felt that once a year I dont mind spending the money for stamps and cards. I can get very nice cards at Walmart or other places so that is not an issue.  When I used to help my Mom with addressing their cards, they used to send  over 100 that included my Dads co workers and people at his work, neighbors and more. Oh yes and some friends and family that have passed on, its so sad.  Those were the days.Man Embarassed

@OhioAngel

I'm one of those people that still sends cards for various holidays.  I have a small group that I've sent to for years.

My Christmas list is around 20.  Like most of you, it used to be larger.

Sadly, most of the folks I send to never reciprocate, and haven't for several years now.  I kept sending just the same, but must admit to being discouraged at not hearing back.

Was just thinking about my Halloween cards (it's my birthday), but uncertain I'll even bother anymore.

I am sending this year.  I think year, more than ever, it's important to stay in touch.

And working from home now, I have more time to send them out and put a personal note in each.

I still send Christmas cards.  I love receiving them.  Like others have said, my list has dwindled down to almost nothing.  I sent under 20 last year.

@VaBelle35  truly, this year it's important !

I often wonder what exactly people are doing for the holidays that they don't send cards, don't write a note of thanks for a gift, don't cook, don't use their china, don't 'bother'?

Then they post "I'm sooooo alone".

Yes it is discouraging to not get cards back from those we send.  If I send and I will give it two years and if still no card back I just stop. By then it is obvious they dont care about cards. Now days it seems more are interested in sending out a Facebook greeting since it is easier.

I still send actual Birthday cards to friends and family. I used to send them Easter cards, Halloween cards, Thanksgiving and even New Years!

But now just Birthday and Christmas. I do miss getting a bunch of cards at the Holidays.
