What title is that? IMO I think she should by-pass Charles and go directly to William.

its a personal award/ribbon monarchs give to ladies in their family

by the way....The Queen cant bypass Charles...thats just not how it works

@BettyNewbie From what I've read, there are many people who don't think Kate deserves this honor. She and William have both been called "work shy".

Princess Anne received hers in 1969. Sophie, Countess of Wessex received hers in 2004 (after 5 years of marriage), Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall received hers in 2007 (after 2 years of marriage) and Princess Diana received hers after 1 year of marriage. It's very telling that after 7 years of marriage, Kate has yet to receive the honor.

Kate is at the bottom, or near the bottom of the royals for days worked every year.

yeah....they lived out of town near a service base for the first few years....and she was pregnant and terribly ill for three years.....giving birth to a future monarch ...she has a full time very important, to the queen by the way, job.

I guess mini curtain pulling is more important

@BettyNewbie  According to reports, she was only ill during the first three months of each of her pregnancies. I absolutely could see her resting and doing no engagements during this time. And of course, going on maternity leave after each birth.

What I can't understand is why a healthy, young woman can't manage to do at least 2 engagements/charity appearances, etc. a week. From reports that I've read, these charity appearances or other engagements only last about an hour, maybe a little more. You show up, smile, shake a few hands, maybe say a few words, take a tour and listen to a speech, pose for a few photos and you're back home. It's not like she has to work for hours at these things.

Pulling a curtain, visiting a hospital, touring a country, etc, is not more important than raising her family. But it IS her job.

Not crazy about the olive color - maybe in the Fall but not for a summer christening.  But, she is stunning - everybody was so happy.   I read that the Queen didn't attend not due to any health issues but because she is terribly busy.

The Queen is not your typical grandmother/ great-grandmother. The only reason my mother would miss an event of this magnitude is if she were in the hospital!

@Jordan2  It was a bit odd not to have the Queen attend the christening. I don't know how she keeps the schedule she does, especially in her 90's. I wish I had half her energy.

This is about a christening, not about what you are injecting into this thread.@Imt.

@goldensrbest  I was responding to someone else's remark. Someone made a comment about Kate not receiving the Royal Family Order, which also had nothing to do with the christening. I supplied some facts about why this possibly hasn't happened yet.
