Such a miracle! Four Columbian children, ages 11 months, 4 years, 9 years, and 11 years old, were found alive but malnourished after 40 days in the dense Amazon jungle. Searchers had dropped food and water into the jungle in hopes they would find it.It was not reported if they had discovered it.
The children survived a plane crash that killed the pilot, co-pilot, and their mother, age 33.
I had not expected a happy ending when I first heard about the crash.

@Trailrun23 So glad to hear the good news that these kids were found & seem fine especially the one who was only 11 months old.

I assume the 11 year-old took the lead on caring for the baby...but they are all young. God certainly had His hand on their shoulders.

There's a lot about this story that sounds fishy to me.

Fishy? what is fishy?

It was barely covered here in the US. I suppose because they are Columbian indigenous children. I subscribe to a couple of British papers online so Ive been following it for weeks along with the rest of the world. I don't think anyone held out much hope after all these weeks but they said the oldest child had received some type of jungle survival training that indigenous children receive. They believe that child knew enough to take charge and help everyone survive. It's a miraculous story. Just praying that they all fully recover, physically and mentally.

So.... As this went on and on for weeks; some people were actually saying it was a hoax. Especially after the president of some country mistakenly said they'd cost been rescued. Apparently he got confused when he was told that indigenous trackers had found tracks and signs of them. It took another couple of weeks to find them.

I agree. I have been following this story for some time. It was announced weeks ago that the children were found, but no info was available.
Now, all of a sudden, there are interviews and pictures.. The 11 year old supposedly had experience with survival skills...yeah right.
Two weeks ago, some outlets reported that this was a hoax with no proof. It looks like that they scrambled to get proof. It is very fishy and the story is inconsistent.

I think I heard about the survival training this morning..I saw a photo of the plane....it is amazing any of the chidren survived or were even able to get out of the plane by themselves. I am surprised there has been so little news about it...but the news is buzzing with lots of other things right now. It does sound like a miracle if the story is true, but if the whole thing is a hoax, what would be the motive?

The account that I read last night gave the oldest child's age as 13. That would make more sense to me in terms of keeping the other children alive.
