@SportyShorty07 @lynnie61 @PamfromCT@on the bay @Oznell @Venezia @BlueFinch @San Antonio Gal @DSD2 I am adding two better pictures of my father. But, we still have those shadows on our eyes.
@cheriere This was posted while you were away.
Cherries are in season and we are enjoying those little red juicy fruits.
Cherries in jewelry and in fashion, have always been popular in the Summer months.
When I was three years old, I loved wearing my "Cherry Dress". It was not a cherry print, but it had cherries on the front of the white collar.
In one picture, I am at the beach with my father and in the other picture, I am holding a
little bag of bird food, to feed the pigeons at Boston Commons. ( I still enjoy feeding all the birds that visit my yard.)
The two dresses that I made for Toni Dolls, are not replicas of my dress, but were inspired
by the memory of my "Cherry Dress".

Those dresses are beautiful!
I kind of remember a white cotton blouse I had with 2 cherries emboidered on the collar. I think it was a popular decoration and maybe always will be too!
Thank you for sharing @Enufstuff,
and I love the photo of you and your father at the ocean.

@Enufstuff your picture with your father is beautiful. You are smiling and so sweet and he is so handsome. The shot of you strolling the Boston Common (with hungry pigeons) is just adorable.
I always love your creations but Toni's cherry dresses are my favorite. Beautifully crafted with talent and love. It's impossible to choose between the pristine white background and the feminine, green gingham check. Both necklines are exquisite.
As a young child, we had a cherry tree and some of my earliest memories are of her delicious cherry pies. This brings back such happy, warm remembrances.

When I saw these I thought oooO! these are my favorite just like you said @DSD2.
But then I thought, really everytime I see one, I think that lol!
But I really think these are, especially the first one with the white.

I'm actually laughing @on the bay because the same thought flashed through my mind! But we are being totally honest because although we love them all, these ARE our favorite at this particular time.

@on the bay Thank you so much. You are right, a cherry motif is a classic.
When Joan Rivers sold her jewelry on QVC, I bought her beautiful cherry pin and the matching earrings.
When I wallpapered my kitchen, I wanted a 1930-1940 vibe, to go with my Hoosier cabinet and antique oak ice box.
I chose a pattern of cherries and strawberries, in a grid of navy blue diamond shapes, on a white background. Then I got a couple of antique trays with a cherry design, as accents.

@DSD2 Thank you very much.
I remember that day so well. Every time the pigeons
would fly near me to land, I felt like they were going to land on me. They were so tame and had no fear of coming close to people. I'm sure that they must have had a lot of people feeding them every day, much like the pigeons in St. Mark's Square in Venice.
When we went to Venice in 2006, I had no desire to feed pigeons in the daytime, and having them so close to me.
I liked going to St. Mark's Square in the evening, just to get a gelato and listen to the orchestra playing. No pigeons at night!
How wonderful that you had a cherry tree and your mother making pies with them. They must have been delicious.
That is a lovely memory.

@Enufstuff Absolutely incredible Cherries for Toni outfits, Enuffstuff ! I love the scalloped eyelet off the shoulder neckline, cherry charm in the center, beautiful high waist, cheerful cherry print, and a delightful full skirt on both Toni girls with a lovely line of red zigzag accent fabric towards the bottom. Beautiful, cheerful and a truly delightful way to honor your childhood cherry dress! Love the green on brunette Toni and the white on blonde Toni- these gal pals know how to dress and do their hair!
You are such an absolutely adorable and beautiful, pint sized little girl! Look at you in your cherry dress with your little legs and I love your happy smile next to your remarkably handsome father! Thank you so much for sharing your memories, photos, and beautiful Toni artwork creations- your work lifts spirits and really showcases all of your talents and gifts. Thanks a billion, Enuffstuff! Your artwork really makes my day!

@SportyShorty07 Thank you so much. I'm happy that you enjoyed seeing the cherry dresses.
When I found those tiny cherry buttons at Joann's, I knew I had to make cherry dresses. Then I found the fabrics.
That is not really the best picture of my father. We always had the sun in our eyes, and shadows, squinting in the sun. He didn't have moustache either. I don't know what that darkness is.
Back in those days, everyone thought that my father looked like the movie actor and dancer, Gene Kelly, and that my mother looked like Joanne Woodward, who was married to Paul Newman.

Precious, @Enufstuff ! What a little doll you were yourself, with your handsome father, and also strolling along with pigeons!
The Tonis are adorable, in their similar-but-not-identical dresses (love that), and with their jaunty pinwheels. You would have been such a great art director for films, or in the theater-- the settings and accessories for your creations are perfect down to every last detail...
