TMZ’s source claims that Cher and Edwards were never actually engaged but the pair just decided to “play into the speculation.”

March 12 was the last time the two were seen together in public. Cher and Edwards made their red carpet debut at the Versace fall 2023 fashion show and shared a smooch for all to see. It's unclear how soon after that did they call it quits.

I love Cher. She is her own person and an amazing human being and talented artist. I met her in a dennys in south San Francisco in 1965.  when they were doing performance  as sonny and Cher at Circle star San Carlos. She was amazing. Huge white fur hat big long white coat  she was with Sonny, manager and some crew. They were eating.  I was trying out for a play in the back.  She signed autograph. Nice lady. Although she looked tired and

They are both in the music business, so of course they had a lot to talk about.  

After they finished talking about the music biz, what did they have in common?   Maybe nothing, maybe more than we think.

They had fun and I hope they'll always be friends.

Speaking of break ups, I recall reading that she & Sonny decided to divorce while they were still doing the Sonny & Cher show ... acting all lovey-dovey for the audience.

Either that was really difficult, or she can end relationships without throwing all the good away.  Well, they had a child together, so there's that.   Must have been tough.
