Chemo for dogs

My sweet 12 year old schnauzer just went through surgery to remove his spleen because of a tumor on it. The biopsy just came back yesterday and it is malignant. He has maybe two to five months to live. The chemo may or may not prolong his life. Would anyone put their dog through this after all he's been through already?
