According to tradition the three wise men who came to seek the infant Jesus were named Gaspar, Balthasar, and Melchior.

I personally love the name Jasper.

Jaspar is a variation of Gaspar, sometime Caspar is also used

This is a brand new life, and a bright and shining moment for the parents...regardless of how people feel about someone, it is a cheap shot to make nasty remarks, on a thread to wish a baby welcome and blessings

It's just another version of Gaspar. The name has origins in Persia, Arabia and the Bible. You can google it.

Every new born child is a gift to humanity. They may find a cure for cancer, they could lead the way to a better tomorrow for everyone. Only the truely spiteful tries to wound an innocent life, and ruin the happiness a brand new birth brings to so many of us.
