Re: Cheesecake Factory cheesecake

Okay, now I have a craving for cheesecake!

I once got a slice of cheesecake to take home from a local Italian deli.  The newspaper raved about this deli.

It looked good, but when I tasted it, it was bland as can be.  It was such a disappointment coming from an authentic Italian bakery.

This one looks exquisite!!  I can stare at it all night!!

I have a recipe for cheesecake that I always make.  It has cream cheese and sour cream.  It's very creamy.  That's what I love best.

It's my mother's recipe.  She got it from one of her aunts that worked for an Italian restaurant.  It's a very old recipe.  I have the recipe card she wrote out.  It's so funny to see her handwriting now...

Hey Beachy1! A few years ago I cut out what is supposed to be the original CF cheesecake recipe. I have meant to make it but just never got around to it. All the reviews were very positive and said it tasted exactly like CF. I should try it someday. It has cream cheese and sour cream as well.

Also, I love all the old recipes that are handwritten by my grandmother. My mother is still alive but she has many recipes handwritten down. I know I will cherish those!

I have my grandmother's and my mother's recipe boxes.  From time to time, I look through them.  My mother was a wonderful entertainer.  She has some very nostalgic recipes in there.

Some of my grandmother's recipes call for oleo - LOL

Re: Cheesecake Factory cheesecake

I really love the Cheese Cake Factory for lunch. I used to go to one in Rockville, MD, but don't have one where I am now. I miss them. The best cheese cake ever, but you can become addicted to them & get some extra curves. Junior's is high price, but the CCF is high as the sky!

Re: Cheesecake Factory cheesecake

My favorite was the pina colada cake cheesecake....it was seasonal but I haven't seen it back.

The carrot cake cheesecake is really good too. Actually, I don't think I've tried a bad one.

Re: Cheesecake Factory cheesecake

@Irshgrl31201 - This looks delicious, especially right now! LOL! This is one of DD and my favorite places to go together. My favorite one to order is the Vanilla Bean, but then I LOVE vanilla! I have some others now to try!

@Kachina624 - We think the food is great. They have a huge menu. But be prepared for a long wait. One thing I like is you can get a "lunch" portion of any of their salads before mid-afternoon. Smiley Happy

Re: Cheesecake Factory cheesecake

@Irshgrl31201 Glad you enjoyed your cheescake! That is nice of your daughter to bring that to you.

I don't know, I am probably in the majority but I am just not a fan of Cheesake factory. I just think their food is kind of boring and just okay. I do like their champagne brunch though but just the champagne, lol.

I like some of their cheescakes and their carrot cake but their portions are wayyyy too big and they are super rich- I can only eat a bite or two and I am done. I had a gift card for CF from a friend and so I went again several months ago but if I didn't have that, I probably would never go again. I am super picky about cheescake though and there are much tastier cheescakes than CF and if I am going to splurge on the calories of cheescake I want a really really good to-die-for cheesecake. What brand are these, I cannot see the package to well! lol! Getting old!

I can't make out what these are, either.    Can someone help us here ??

About 6 months after turning 45 my eyesight really started to give me trouble. Only with reading small print but I just turned 46 and I really need to go get glasses! I see so many cute frames I love but I do need to get in to see a dr. I think I will only need them when I read.

@Irshgrl31201

When was the last time you had your eyes examined?

It's best to get regular exams .... can you just imagine how small your world would be if your eyesight was gone?   There are even optometrists at many Walmarts, Targets and Sears.

Even if you cannot afford to get the glasses right away, do make time to get your precious eyes checked out!    JMO

Re: Cheesecake Factory cheesecake

If anyone here wants to resist temptation at the local CF, have I got the nutrition chart for you!!

The calorie count  (as well as other information)  for their cheesecakes --- and regular cakes ---  is about 3/4 of the way down this lengthy chart.

A single piece of cheescake can go as high as 1,330 calories .... and a single piece of cake can go as high as 1,680 calories.    Maybe a group can order ONE piece and six forks?
