Checking in from Long Island

What a mess we have! Most of Long Island has no power, and is slowly cleaning up. Apparently LIPA is working as fast as they can but that's almost a million homes without power!

We're at the library now, where many in our community are going to charge up their phones and their electronic devices. I'm charging our phones and the laptop but without electricity, we have no wifi, hence no computer. Plus our landline phones are out as well.

Thankfully we had no damage besides a few trees, but from what I'm hearing on the radio, much of Long Island is devastated, as is the Jersey shore. I haven't been able to see any photos of the destruction but I'll take a look now.
