I think this is more than 50 to 100 a day but I am not a hairdresser..Six women are suing Hollywood hairstylist Chaz DeanETA- Just to be CLEAR I think frivolous lawsuits are RIDICULOUS! The minute you notice so much hair is coming out,STOP! Or in my case try again then STOP!!{#emotions_dlg.biggrin}

I didn't read every entry on that consumer affairs link, but all the ones I did are problems with Guthy-Renker. One even claimed it was QVC, but what she reported didn't read anything like how QVC operates and everything like GR.

that is either hair breakage or new hair growth..........I don't see WEN products causing hair breakage...........I've used his products for years......................................raven

I think in the case of THIS type of reaction...that is hair loss...it is much more traumatic and devastating to a woman (especially) than let's say a skin rash from a cosmetic so I don't know if you can compare this reaction to all other reactions. In fact I think the only type of reaction that would be worse than hair loss would be anaphylactic shock.

Why wouldn't these women have a case if there was a specific time frame and they had documented evaluations and tests by their internist, derms and hair specialists all saying they were in excellent health and there could be no other plausible reason for the hair loss?

Why should their allergic reaction to acceptable ingredients become a legal case regardless of how "devastating" hair loss may be? Allergies happen. Whether the loss is temporary, or even if permanent, it's due to the individuals allergic reaction, otherwise, everyone who has used WEN would be losing hair, not just a small percentage of people.

Agree. Just don't see how this is different from other allergies.

For all the 'ridiculous' statements.....that's what we all thought about the McDonald's Hot Coffee lawsuit.

People made fun of that one, I did as well but then I saw a documentary about it and changed my mind. Maybe there's more than we know.

It's very easy to make fun and poo poo until you (general) are a victim. Then everything changes.

And that lady basically changed the industry! No matter how silly we think it was, she basically changed the take-out industry. Can't go to a take-out...or even a Starbucks....without that 'careful, it's hot' warning on the cup. She created a paradigm shift.

Maybe this lawsuit will change the formulas not only w/ Wen but many hair products, as well. It only takes one to start the domino affect.

A victim? In this case? They are victimized by their own bodies and metabolism. Maybe they should file a lawsuit against their parents, or maybe even God!!!

I have allergies to many things. It never occurred to me to sue a manufacturer or grower for my physical reaction to products that the general population has no problem with. Even if these women never encountered this type allergic reaction in the past, it's still on them to find out what ingredient (if it even IS WEN behind it) they are allergic to, and from here on out read labels and take responsibility to avoid products that contain what they are allergic to.

Maybe all physicians who are Allergists should start employing attorneys in their offices as well as nurses..
