WHY start a post to argue? I don't care about stars. But I grew up in Hawaii when Tom Selleck filmed Magnum PI. There was never a more respectful man than him. Kind and generous.

I agree. I don't get the point of this.

We're both right. Many of the stars mention using the weapon.

Gun control at this stage in the game would be like closing the barn door after the horses escaped. Kind of pointless.

As far as leaving a gun unattended on a coffee table or night table is not being responsible.
Easy access to guns is irresponsible too. Just because you can own a gun doesn't mean you are responsible or sane enough to own a gun.
In my State it's legal for a teen to have a hunting weapon but illegal to buy a pack of cigarettes.
Where did I ever say it was unattended? Please don't put words in my post. I said it was on the coffee table. He never left it unattended, it was cleaned and holstered. We didn't have children or anyone else in our home that would have access to it.
I do agree that just because some people can get a permit to carry a weapon, does not mean they should. That is a big part of the problem, as well as irresponsible gun owners allowing easy access. It is a massive problem on many levels, but it boils down to the owner. A knife is harmless until someone picks it up and starts waving it around and stabs someone.

Unattended as in his hand wasn't on it, nor on his person, like a police officer.
Have a good evening jules, there's a program on PBS that I want to watch.

Oh, don't leave just because you are losing this argument. Yours is ridiculous, if you think a police officer is irresponsible or negligent because his hand is not on his weapon every minute of the day (when off duty), you need a reality check. No, he didn't shower with it, so he left it unattended then, on the bathroom counter. It was on the nightstand while he slept... I preferred that to in his hand. I mean c'mon... have some common sense. I never touched it, never had a desire to, I had no permit to carry a weapon so he would have had to use his cuffs on me
. We went to a shooting range, I can shoot, but his weapon was his work and not my place to touch it, so it was "safe" if he left it around me while he was sleeping or bathing. You seem to delight in nitpicking details that derail the real topic mgm. Regardless, you enjoy your show and have a lovely evening as well.

MGM's pettiness is over the top as usual, Jules. Ignore her.
