I have great faith in Samaritan's Purse, will not donate to Red Cross, Salvation Army, or United Way. I hope everyone does their research and donates to whatever works best for them. Our help is greatly needed.

Our congregation has chosen to send a $7,000 donation to World Central Kitchen.  The prayers we are sending are endless.

I donate to animal shelters, St Jude & Tunnel to Towers.  Problem is, once you donate they hound you to no end and St Jude sells your name to others.

I use Charity Navigator also.  One year prior to using it, I donated to a charity out of Charleston that provided clean water..........looked at their financials and they owned a lovely boat..........wondered about that and never donated to them again.

Dr Phil said, "My team at Main Street and I have teamed up with Samaritans Purse and our friends at Michaels Stores to deliver supplies, generators, and a helping hand to people affected by the hurricane. A special thanks to Tim Kennedy for getting us moving in the right direction. A lot of great people doing a lot of great things down here. We are happy to help and keep this story alive."

I wouldn't believe Dr Phil if his tongue came notarized.

There are a lot of great charities. Samaritans Purse might be one of them - I don't know much about them.

I do my own research on how much goes to expenses and salaries vs help for those who need it. I give to reputable charities with lower CEO pay and expenses.

Ditto ... he's not even a doctor anymore and definitely not who he pretends to be.

I read this morning that Taylor Swift donated $5 million (FIVE MILLION!!!) for hurricane relief but didn't catch who it was donated to.

Nothing from Oprah so far.   Gee, is anyone surprised?

Taylor's donation was to "Feeding America. "

That's a lot of meals.

Be very careful and don't take anything even local at face value.  A charity in a town in Okahoma is being audited and possiby will soon be investigated for deplorable practices with funding.  Just stop and think about how much money is being poured in and how many people are being served.

Sometimes it is eye opening.  It's a business now.  Sad but true

Asheville, NC - Where Hurricane Helene wreaked havoc like never before, Samaritan's Purse volunteers continued serving vulnerable families.

The ongoing relief work in Asheville, along with our other response sites across Western NC and the Southeast, includes tarping damaged roofs, clearing debris, mudding out homes, and more - all in an effort to remind these hurting communities that they are not forgotten during this difficult time. While the flood waters continue to recede, the spiritual and physical needs will remain for weeks and months ahead.

I so agree with you about the Red Cross. Their people get paid first, then the donation kicks in. Same with United Way.
