It is important that we learn to say no - in this kind of situations and others, too. No explanation is necessary, giving one makes it sound like you think you should donate - or do whatever you are saying no to.

Tell them the truth. Then they will know you contribute to other charities and won't bother you.

Just let them know you have made all your donations for the year. Simple.

I have done this for quite some time ... all those little Girl Scouts wanting to sell me cookies.  Ha!   I tell them I don't want any cookies but will make a donation.   They are happy and so is my waistline.
