Police Officers hand guns to Police Officers every day. One Officer hands it to another, and the "other" checks it. If it goes off? You don't get away with: "but Officer Smith said"!  Ain't the way it works. You are holding the hand gun!  Just like "but I didn't know that law" in a court room.

Hand gun 101. The person handling it  always checks it themselves. This was the first question asked in my Conceal Carry Permit Class. You don't know that? You flunked. No "but fors", period!

I'm glad.  As @bikerbabe said, he may have been liable as producer and/or company executive, but not as the actor who held the gun - unless, of course, the firing was intentional, but no one believes that..

But…..

There are rules on a film set, including union rules on how props are handled. It is NOT the same as examples people are citing for other settings. Now, you could argue whether or not that’s smart, but I’m telling you a different set of rules and very strict protocol applies on movie sets.

I'm surprised.  I did think there was some sort of civil suit by the family--  wonder if that has been settled.

I do question his responsibility as a PRODUCER and who was hired and who was let go with regard to safety and props.

 Figured as much.  All he does is blow his mouth off telling one story after the other  and it's never his fault . Typical narcissist . With all his blah  abt guns ,  he is so arrogant that he blamed the gun fired itself and  he did not even take responsibility that he did not check the gun himself before firing directly at the victim. He blamed the victim for telling him to point the gun at her and fire.....

 No justice in this case, unless  the family decided to take a monetary settlement  and run  ...
