Centerpiece suggestion for dinner party

I'm hosting a birthday dinner party for my sister this Saturday. I'm not crafty so I seldom come up with great original ideas.

I have a small rectangular table and by the time it is set with dinnerware and wine glasses, there's little room for a centerpiece. Without a centerpiece, though, it will look blah.

Any suggestions?
