Re: Celebrity Spokesperson Commercials

Right now, it's not who is doing the commercial that matters -  what does matter is understanding who is controlling interest rates and why they're being controlled the way they are.  That affects not only savings accounts, but all sorts of mortgages, standard and reverse.

Anyone even remotely considering a reverse mortgage needs to learn the current laws about them.  I stopped paying attention more than a decade ago although I do know there have been changes.  Any mortgage, standard or reverse, is a huge financial decision.  I wouldn't get my information from a commercial or from a social media chat site.

I respectfully disagree.

While I hope I never need to choose a reverse mortgage, my aunt did and it worked out well for her.

I do not think it takes away from Tom Selleck's respectability and ironically, he was a favorite of my late aunt. I respect him also.

Joe Namaeth, and sports players are all over advertising anyway and selling insurance whether you are Dennis Quaid or the mayhem guy is as old as the hills.

@patbz   My poor husband must be so sick of hearing me go on and on about the Joe Namath commercial.  Glad to hear that Joe has found a way to get to his medical appointments!!  😂  I'm sure that there are many people out there for whom this is a problem -- but I find it hard to believe that  Joe is one of them.

I HATE these Celebrity spokespersons...As we all know these people are compensated for their time and effort....If a product or service can't stand on its own merit than that's a NO SALE for me~!

The only one that I found entertaining and amusing was when Martha Stewart challenged Jack from Jack In The Box to a sandwich making contest ....at least that one was funny! Woman LOL

And I wish QVC would quit their own celebrity name dropping, mentioning how a product is "on Ms O's favorite  product list" ..... OR "this vendor has celebrity clients"...WHO CARES! Woman Frustrated

Yup, those Medicare commercials are on constantly.  The one with Bill Engvall is kinda amusing.  Joe Namath is seriously over-acting.

Ellen DeGeneres as spokesperson for Spectrum.   I can't believed she lowered herself, in my opinion, for a company who does not care about the customer or service or gouging the customer on price, again, in my opinion.

@avid shopper

That one was puzzler for me too....does she need the money????  does she donate it to her favorite charities????....and why Spectrum which has a negative connotation with so many customer complaints too....

Their job isn't done until we buy what they're selling. Until then they're just highly paid spokespeople.

Re: Celebrity Spokesperson Commercials

The possibility of Joe Namath depending on Medicare insurance for his transportation to the doctor's office is to ridiculous to even contemplate.
