Just curious.  Has anyone ever known a celebrity?

@pprmntstx

Boz Skaggs asked me out once.  Leo Sayer brought me on stage at his Albert Hall London concert and kissed my hand lol.   A friend did lights & design at musical venues and he introduced me to Alan Price keyboardist for the Animals, lovely man. Met Donald Sutherland & got his autograph while filming Invasion of the Body Snatchers in SF.  Sat and drank coffee with Jerry Garcia of the Grateful Dead for 2 hours before his show at Keystone Berkeley.  Wrote about that experience & sent to SF Chronicle day after he died and they published it.

You'll probably have to google most of these people as not widely known. Haven't ever thought about all these events in one sitting, pretty much a blast from the past!

I understand and appreciate your explanation.

I'm not that into Hollywood or "influencers" but it is fun to imagine being "famous."

My own secret wish was to be a rock and roll diva like Stevie Nicks.  But, I've heard her discuss her life and it's not something I envy.

While some do admirable things, it's not a life I desire or admire.

Tom Gun = One of my favorite "guilty pleasure" movies.

Kelly was a beauty and seems very aware of time passing her buy.

@ECBG   Andie McDowell is a lovely lady...just like a best friend. I've worked with her when doing a few films in NC. We discussed letting our curls go grey, our similar bushy dark brows, etc. We broke for lunch and she wanted an egg salad sandwich at a nearby diner...no fancy restaurant or catering truck. We sat for a few hours babbling like we've known each other for years.

Thanks for posting photos of her house. Beautiful. We were working on a film done in Wilmington. Funny how NC has become popular for some film makers.

Who doesn't love ABBA?...how fab you worked with them!

Ozzie not muy cup of tea.  I cannot imagine touring with him...Yikes!

You've been with some of the best for sure.  We saw the Zombies last year and I fell in love with them all over again.  Colin Blunstone was so charming and soft spoken on stage.

Think I loved every British group that came along...We saw a review a couple of years back of many of the early groups headed by Peter Asher.

It was a glorious evening of singing along to the songs I grew up with.

I'm sure touring and working give you another view that might get old.  But, I would certainly loved to have done it when I was younger!

Andie comes across like a nice person.  I love the house she had here.  The entire home is online if you would like to see it.  It's the only interior I wouldn't change.

I've seen the house from the outside.

I read quite a bit about Kelly.  it seems she was just "done there, been that" with the work to maintain that look.  She was a stunner.

Sounds like you've had some wonderful experiences.   Love Boz and grew up listenting to the Animals.

I cannot watch the version of the Body Snatchers with Donald Sutherland...saw the original, but the newer version really creeps me out.

I was thinking about this and remembered a couple of events.   One was a meet n greet with Joe Montana.  Got our pic taken w/him.    IIRC, this event was in Grass Valley and there were several other events around it, including some parties and an auction.  I got an autographed pic, beautifully framed, of Joe Montana (with COA).  It was a whole day of festivities.

We used to attend the celebrity golf tournaments up at Lake Tahoe.  I've met countless people there and always enjoyed it, even though I'm not that big a fan of golf.

One of my favs was Jerry Rice.  He's my favorite athlete, anyway, so it was a real thrill.  He's just so cute, too, and his wife was stunning!   After we had met and talked a bit there was a point where my husband and I were on one side of a fairway and Jerry and the group were on the other side.   At one point, Jerry was smiling and waving.  I looked around to see who he was waving to and we were the only ones right there.  He was like 'yeah, you - I'm waving to you' with that big smile.   That was pretty cool.  I waved back and I still smile thinking about it.

Also met Charles Barkley.  People said he was such a total jerk.  He was very nice and kind.  So, I guess he wasn't a jerk that day at least.  Smiley Happy
