I just heard that the lion was shot with an arrow and suffered for forty hours before he was found. Letting any living thing suffer is a no-no. I'm actually sick over this. Can't imagine anyone doing this to a protected (or other) animal. One can only imagine what he was thinking, walking away after that one arrow.

Smaug, I'll say it for you - I'd like to set him on fire.
This is a terrible thing to say.
IamMrsG,
I was trying to reply when the old thread was locked. So, I started a new thread so that I could reply to you.

why are some people determined to shut down threads? You know that type of talk got the other one locked
anyway...RIP Cecil
How anyone can murder such a beautiful animal, I do not know

by 2050 - these beautiful animals could be extinct. And now Cecil's 24 cubs could be also killed, due to another male lion taking over the pride.

One step back for human kind. Well, more than one step.

I was sorry to see the other thread locked, and cannot say I agree with the decision. Oceantown and I had a difference of opinion, but I saw no threat of animosity in our exchanges.

I responded on the other thread . . . suffice it to say I am devastated over this and hope that individual suffers in life in some way equal to what he did to that magnificent animal.

I understand the next alpha male will want to remove traces of Cecil's line from the pride; however, I do not understand why those cubs could not be rescued and raised, then returned to the wild somewhere else.

resources and funds. There is a petition to do save them. I would donate to the fund. Perhaps one of these trophy hunters could donate 55K...
