Last year my grandson had to move back home and couldn't take his cat with him because his parents have 2 very large dogs that hate cats. He asked me to temporarily give Dude a home. Well, a year later and I still have him lol. He's a nice boy but has one big problem - his claws. He came with a big scratch post which he uses but likes my bottom carpeted step better, even tho I have a smaller post next to it. He also seems to get his claws caught in placemats, my tops, etc. Grandson does come over and clips his nails about once a month which doesn't seem to help much. Will not have him declawed but would appreciate other hints and help.
