@mimomof4   I agree with your entire post. I like Dan and Carolyn. I am sorry to see them go and I wish them well. But they will be just fine. They have lots of contacts and are well known in the business. If they choose to work they will find employment or be creative and come up with their own businesses. However they are both in their sixties. They may decide they had great careers and now it's time to enjoy retirement. I doubt that they will be sitting home waiting for their Social Security checks to come in. 

I do feel for the other 398 employees who lost their jobs. Some of whom may be raising children and really needed these jobs to pay rent and buy groceries. I hope that Qurate is very generous in the severance offered to these people.

It appears that the hosts' who leave or who are asked to QVC/HSN landed on their feet.

They are seen again on television, even on the same networks they left in some capacity. 

Examples: Kathy Levine, Stacy Stauffer, Courtney Cason, Antonella, Albany Irvin, etc.

QVC has hired some pretty poor new hosts lately. These people get to stay!!! I can think of several people who should have been let go first! (Namely Stacey Rusch, Steve, Rosina). What exactly was the purpose of hiring Steve?

Carolyn was the face of D&Co- She actually wore this line of clothing (the best-selling clothing on the Q, I think?) It's shocking that they would remove her! No other host actually wears this crappy clothing.

When a person is laid off there isn't any notice.  I was told at 4:30 p.m. on a Friday that it was going to be my last day by the inhuman resources.  I was also walked out of the building by the inhuman resources representative.  As I was walked out of the building the rep actually had the nerve to tell me to have a nice weekend.

@50Mickey - I very much doubt it.  I may be wrong, but I suspect they will only offer what the law requires.  Which isn't much!

They aren't the first two employees to be let go without notice and I'm pretty sure the won't be the last.

When I was still working, you'd hear rumors of impending layoffs. Any management person would be told 2 hours prior that they were to pack their personal  stuff and then would have  their.keys taken and escorted by HR out the door. Anyone in the union would be laid off starting by the lowest  person in their respective depts. Those people could bump someone in another dept. that they were senior to and could do that job (pay wise it was a cross bid or a down bid). I had to do that a couple times to keep a job and believe me they were at the bottom of the barrel pay wise, but I didn't want to have to start over somewhere else when I had good benefits and 30 years of working. I retired after 45 years.

Business is Business. Obviously, not to many viewers have ever held jobs in corporate America. Move on.

Both Carolyn and Dan knew what might be coming when Antonella, Gabrielle and several other hosts were let go a few years ago.  No one is safe in a job situation.  The days of working for one company until you retire are over.  People need to save money and always have their resume updated just in case they are laid off their jobs.

Carolyn was my favorite host.  Tried to watch whenever she was on.

Carolyn and Dan were definitely assets to QVC, and there will be a negative impact.  Surely it's the same for many of the other employees who were laid off.  Now I know why I have a handful of orders from five days ago that have not been shipped yet.  This is not good.
