I would’ve bet my left arm in the game of ‘Dead, Not Dead’

that she died about 20-30yrs ago!  I remember her a ‘old’

on Johnny Carson a zillion yrs ago.  She led a long, long life!

I never imagined her as petite

I always thought she looked like a showgirl, tall, lean, long legs - much like Lucille Ball

Many memories of this talented lady. RIP Carol!

The next time that I hear salt and ice together, it better be in a margarita!

We lost another GREAT entertainer -- who will NEVER be replaced. Carol did have a long run -- and we're so lucky to have known her. One of-a-kind.

I just loved her.  I remember back in the talk show days, like Mike Douglas, Johnny Carson.  She was just funny and a real delight.  What a trouper!! She will always be Broadway personified. Hellooooo Dolly....

@sidsmom

An "old" what, on Johnny Carson?

Fact:  I graduated from the same high school as Carol Channing, so know a bit more than most who may post here.  Haven't gone to Wiki, this is just a tiny bit of what was shared with us by Carol herself upon the occasion of the dedication of the newly refurbished Lowell High School, San Francisco, audiitorium, which now bears her name.

During her long, active, performing life, Carol Channing was brought up and continued with the Christian Scientists.  This, simply put, meant that during the course of her life she abstained from alcohol, tobacco, and other such "vices."  When she spoke, it was with such ease and sweetness you just wanted to give her a hug.  It was an evening to remember and I'm glad I was able to be there.

 Sidsmom, insult inwithstanding, we all know that people age differently based on various factors.  Taking a kinder approach, even to the departed, does the soul good.

@sfnative

Huh?

An ‘old’ as in an old soul.

That’s why some people never age because they have

always appeared & acted older, even in their youth.

I’m disheartened you don’t grasp that simple idea.

And as for the who/what/when/where/how of her upbringing,

it’s not relevant to my viewpoint.
