I just heard on the news that Carlee has confessed that she was not kidnapped and that she was alone the entire time that she was "missing." Authorities have not said if she will be prosecuted. I would like to know what she hoped to accomplish with this stunt.

@50Mickey- Whether she is prosecuted or not, why would she want to put her family through that. Like you said, what did she think she would accomplish.

@WORKING GAL I agree it was a very cruel thing to do to her parents. I wouldn't be surprised if she checks into a mental health facility soon.

That's very sad. Where was she when she was supposedly "missing?"

There is SO much more than meets the eye here. This young lady is obviously deeply troubled!😐 When the dust finally settles, I hope services are made available to her soon, so she gets whatever help she needs.🤞🙏

@50Mickey Glad she admitted this. I just hope that the next time an incident like this happens that people don't dismiss it because it could be another hoax.

Nothing rang true - have to wonder what prompted her to make those claims.

I figured it out from day one that she was lying. The police can track phones and there are cameras everywhere now. Her story wasn't working out.
When this type of hoax happens so often, it could cause police and authorities to not think a real kidnapping or other crime didn't happen to someone else who is truly a victim.
In addition, black families complain that when their loved ones go missing, they have a hard time getting the authorities to take them seriously. They are labeled a run away, unlike most white children who are immediately spotlighted and seriously looked for.
Cases like Carlee's might make it worse for black families. I hope not.
I hope she gets the help she needs. She has some serious issues. She, and Jussie Smollett are now American icons for crime hoaxes.

@colleena Too late. I shared her Missing poster on Facebook without even looking at the details which, of course, didn't question her disappearance.
The other day, after all this came out, another missing person came across my newsfeed and, because this case came to mind, I didn't share it.
