RIP. Loved Carl Reiner and his creations. He lived a long life so we can't be sad. But sadness comes as those of us who loved his shows see our past disappear each day with the passing of those we loved.

I always loved the episodes he was in as Rob's boss.

Reiner, perhaps knowing the end was near, tweeted this just three days ago.

Nothing pleases me more than knowing that I have lived the best life possible by having met & marrying the gifted Estelle (Stella) Lebost—who partnered with me in bringing Rob, Annie & Lucas Reiner into to this needy & evolving world.

Oh I had forgotten about his classic comedy sketches with Mel Brooks such as the 2000 Year Old Man. My dad loved those sketches and roared with laughter. Reiner wrote for Sid Cesar's Your Show of Shows in early TV Days.

He was married to his wife Estelle for more than 60 years. We know her as "I'll have what she's having" from the diner Scene in When Harry Met Sally.

He was one of the greats - loved the D*ck Van D*ke show and all his other work.

If you haven't seen Jerry Seinfeld's "Comedians in Cars with Coffee" interview with Carl Reiner & Mel Brooks, I highly recommend -- it's a wonderful & funny show from 2012.
