I don't understand this - maybe someone here works in journalism/news, and can answer my question.
A 15-y/o boy who was recently expelled from middle school came back and shot another 15-y/o boy at that school, critically wounding him. The papers/TV stations all reported the alleged shooter's name, photo, etc.

Then, suddenly, after the shooter was captured and arrested, they STOPPED saying his name, blurred out his face in videos, etc.
I realize that he's a minor, and unless/until he's waived into adult court, he's given the protection of a minor.
BUT, I'm sure these papers/TV stations know in advance of his age, etc., but still they gave out all the info. Was it all OK til his arrest, or ???
