Re: Can You Name 3 Things QVC could do.......

QVC has the overhead of running a television network, 24 hours a day.

Even a behemoth, like Amazon, is simply on line shopping.

I just can’t imagine the home shopping networks, ever going to 100% free shipping.

Love this thread!  Now if only QVC would read it!!!  I agree with all of these suggestions but if I have to pick 3:

1 - Don't want to hear about hosts personal lives or begging me to go to facebook to "join in", and stop with the host on the couch and the fake cocktails.

2- Shipping/returns so antiquated. Please listen to your customers -  DUH! Basic common sense for an online business.

3 - Stop with the long presentations of the TSV made even longer by the ridiculous phone calls.

Tomorrow, the TSV is a computer.  That means at least an hour of ITKWD will focus on that machine.  What a waste!  We would shop more of the show if there was more of a show to see.  Get some names back in the game - celebrity chefs who can actually cook.  More of a variety of products - not just Germack, Mama Mancini's and MCM.  And knock off the Happy Dances and goofiness.  They have been done to death!

So many great ideas.  Yes, fix shipping problems, lower shipping costs, etc.

Ensure vendors have enough stock to sell.  No more “won’t be back til next year” after a very brief presentation.

Dictate to vendors what the QVC customers want.  People who are petite or tall are often ignored.

Stop selling constant multiples in cosmetics/bath items so frequently.  If you want to try something, you don’t want two or three.  One vendor recently was selling a set of 20 eyeliner pencils.  Really?

Pay attention to customer reviews.  Example: many complaints with perfumes after sale to Coty

Get some new vendors to add to the mix.  Constant repeats, overly long shows.

Train or hire hosts who are pleasant, know the product being sold and ensure details are given.  Way too much silly chatter.

And you don’t have to be very loud to get attention - it’s a real turn-off to so many.  And stop telling customers how many you have of an item, etc.  We don’t care.

Stop all the chit-chat, personal sharing, stories, etc.

Faster order processing.  I have an item to exchange for size for an event the end of August.  I doubt it will make it back to me in time.

Don't tell viewers they can get this item home for $8 (or whatever).  So what??? It makes me feel like you are preying on people who cannot afford to shop QVC.  That really bugs me.

If management would just review and rededicate the company to its former standards for Quality, Value and Convenience, it would make a world of difference.  Set sensationalism, ageism, sexism and status-symbolism aside, and get back to fundamentalism and professionalism.

My last three shirt purchases totaled, with S&H and taxes, $167.66   For any expenditure the customer is entitled to truth in advertising and an expectation of quality in workmanship and materials.  I don’t feel I got any of that from either of these purchases:

A306406  Joan Rivers 3/4 Sleeve Seersucker Shirt w/ Back Button Detail
The fabric is stiff, crimped and overly warm for Summer.  It is not a cool and lightweight seersucker.  Made in China; $64.78, total

A343382  Belle by Kim Gravel Floral Print Velvet Button
It’s a mediocre shirt, over-priced for the quality of the fabric.  Its equivalent could have been purchased for half as much at a discount store. Made in China; $61.87, total

A355151  Martha Stewart Stretch Poplin Button Front 3/4- sleeve
In spite of assurances the material wasn’t see-through, my fair skin tone was easily visible through the thin white fabric.  Although I ordered a size smaller, it billowed like a circus tent.  Fed up with accepting second-rate and misrepresented merchandise, I returned it and decided to shop elsewhere for clothes.  “Imported”  $41.01, total

Edited to fix wonky spacing.
Strive for respect instead of attention. It lasts longer.

Re: Can You Name 3 Things QVC could do.......

I'm very conscious of gaps in quality assurance, after the last two full price items I ordered, arrived damaged.  One looked to me like a return that had not even been closely inspected before blithely being shipped back out;  the other has not one, but several, defects clear to the naked eye.  I don't remember this many glaringly problematic shipments in the distant past.

Reduced shipping, and ship-free events are customer friendly inducements that should have been long ago adopted.

I believe the Q should be more involved in setting a professional standard in their social media presence.  The moderators can only implement policy, to the best of their ability.  But policy should include, as an absolute standard, civil discourse on the boards.  The minute that one of a small band of posters starts belittling, condescending to, targeting, and ganging up on, other posters, they should be out.  It should not be tolerated, certainly not for post after post of rudeness and toxicity.  This is very bad for the reputation of a major online retailer.

I have noticed recently that posters have been responding more and more with calm, rational pushback to the miscreants, helping to marginalize their behavior.  But it shouldn't just be up to the people participating on the boards.  There needs to be corporate support for civility.

Re: Can You Name 3 Things QVC could do.......

What could QVC do to improve? As many have said, shorter presentations and more products per program. There is no need to spend 20 minutes or more on anything. Stop selling beauty items on fashion shows. There are plenty of exclusively beauty product shows. Another thing that makes me head for the remote is the emphasis on facebook and other social media sites. I, for one, watch QVC for the same reason I physically go shopping: I may want to buy something that they have to sell. I'm not interested in being friends with the sales people or other customers.

Re: Can You Name 3 Things QVC could do.......

1.  Competitive pricing (including incentives to shop here **note easy pay isn't an incentive for everyone)

2.  Competitive shipping (including the cost & length of time to receive        orders)

3.  More variety of items on air (how many hours/days/months/years can you possibly air the same thing over & over & over again?)

Good luck Q!
