On my news feed from NYC, a snake slithered across a subway platform!
I can't stand anything that darts! I prefer an elephant, thank you!
It's a black snake but he may not be happy!

Video of an enormous black snake slithering across a New York City subway platform was posted on Twitter Sunday — a rare sighting in a city more accustomed to roaches and rodents.
The snake was recorded on an above-ground train platform that’s otherwise unidentified.
“Being a train operator for NYC Transit subway I thought I have seen it all but this can’t be real,” transit worker Canella Gomez wrote about the startling find.
It wasn’t clear what kind of snake it was, though one Twitter poster guessed it was a black racer snake, which is mostly harmless. The poster hypothesized the snake crawled out of a subway drain.

@ECBG OMG!!!! Whether or not it is a venomous snake would not be the issue as "it" would make me hurt myself getting away. An old man threw a snake at me as a child and they terrify me. My mom had sent me to show him where the garden was at and let him pick some things. Needless to say, that was his last visit to our home as she went off on him for doing me that way.

Well, he could certainly help in keeping the rat population under control.

@RoughDraft That's probably why he lives there. He has lots of food. I'll bet there are more snakes down there because NYC is full of rats.

May be someone forgot to call Bergdorf Goodman so they can come and catch the snake in order for them to make a pair of snake skin shoes. (okay okay, I was just kidding)

Very pretty! It looks like he has rattles. Is that some sort of rattlesnake?

@Boomernichols So sorry! His actions were cruel. He probably thought he was being funny.

Having ridden on the subways in NYC, this would be preferable to some of the things I've seen. Poor snake.
