California Costco shooting (6/14)

Wow.

The scary part (of an already dangerous situation) is

the emergency doors were reported locked.

That ain’t good.....

Helps to explain why people stay home and order online. We are no longer safe anywhere. Now instead of shoplifting they just take our packages after delivery.

Not sure where ‘shoplifting’ was gleaned from the story.

Many are saying,

“...as a gunman in an argument near the freezer section opened fire..”

I haven’t seen anywhere what the argument was about.

I go to Costco probably 3 times a month.  Now this will flash in my mind like the theater shooting do every time I go to a movie but it won't keep me home.

Not far from me. I can tell you why the emergency exits were locked - shoplifters. People pull up to Costco around the back and a pick up truck and run out the back doors with shopping carts loaded with food and electronics. I haven’t been in that particular store but I’ve been into several others in the area and the store is not the only one that locks the emergency exits. Costco is going to get into big trouble over this. If shoplifting is such a problem, don’t tell me that Cosco can’t afford to hire some more security to cover the exits instead of locking the doors.

Can help but smell lawsuits over this.

I live in NoCal and last week went I went to Costco I noticed Security at front door.  I think this is the future, sadly.  Hopefully all this anger, hatred and pure stupidity will come to an end.

The emergency exits were locked?!?! What if this incident had been a fire/explosion or gas leak instead?
