Re: The Cajun Navy Arrived In Texas

Wings Of Rescue has successfully flown 85 dogs and cats from Texas to a pet shelter in San Diego, CA where they are clean, warm and fed.

When I have insomnia I have to force myself to stay out of the kitchen!

Bless the Cajun Navy!

This is wonderful!

Obviously that should be THE Cajun Navy.  Up since 3:20 am.  Now I'm hungry. I wonder if other people get hungry with insomnia?  5:05 now, try again, Noel.

@Noel7  Even here in NE Ohio there is a barbershop owner who is collecting donations of food, necessities, and money, and loading the items on a truck to be driven to Texas.  Local animal shelters are also preparing to take in homeless dogs and cats from Texas shelters.  They are asking our residents to help by taking in the animals they already have to make room for them.

The CN ran into impassable roads but they are receiving help getting into Houston to assist the rescue efforts.

@LTT1

I saw this break on the news wire yesterday.

A representative of the Cajun Navy was actually being

interviewed about being shot at.  Everyone was showing a

Facebook post.  By the time I went to their FB to see the

actual post....it was deleted.  No where I could find the original.

The 'shot at' news hasn't been debunked yet, but I'm thinking

since there's no social media footprint of this anymore,

it might live on as a Snopes entry....like sharks on the roadway.

Re: The Cajun Navy Arrived In Texas

This isn't The Cajun Navy's first rodeo.  They are primarily just citizens who care and have this wonderful way to help with flood issues.  One of them lives in our immediate area and we are very proud of him. He's taking time off -  I suspect without pay - to go to the Houston area and help. They have saved a number of peole and pets.  Thank God for people like him.

A report this morning said the story had not been verified.
