I just got an email there was a data breach of this website. For those that don't know they sell tee shirts, mugs, computer accessories, etc that you can personalize. I bought a computer sleeve for my chromebook, Peanuts that I got my name on. I purchased this one thing two years ago, and now have to worry about my information being in the hands of someone. I'm so tired of these data breaches, it makes me not want to buy anything. CafePress isn't offering any free credit reporting, they recommended the free reports you can obtain.

By now I figure my data has been breached by a dozen or more countries.

Basically, we are.  It's not pretty, but it's true.  Not too many knights in shining armor to intervene for us these days.

Unfortunately, it is just an inevitable sign of the times. I believe "breaches" are far more common than we are led to believe. Computer techs with very little oversight are perhaps responsible. If you have a social security number, chances are you have been a victim of MANY "breaches" At least the larger companies can offer free credit reporting. It is then up to us to remain diligent. They are probably just as frustrated with it as we are. Perhaps a computer programmer here on the forums can offer a more detailed perspective. I monitor my credit regularly, and still hold my breath😊

Agree. One of the worst was OPM where the data breach  occured , from what they said the hackers obtained  all  so many million  application & SSn  for federal employees .  The info included names of family members who also were federal employees , listing of prior employers , ect.
