Re: Cabin fever.......Anyone else?

Someone reminded me tonight that spring begins in 31 days!!! But, yeah, I have cabin fever too. More snow is on its way which will start around 10 pm and go through 10 am on Tuesday, with up to 6 inches predicted. It's 19 * right now and the air is really raw so my bones tell me snow is on its way. We already have more snow than we need and many of the streets are still not good so I hope the snow bypasses us but I doubt it will.

Just stay warm and safe. Turn on the Olympics and enjoy the skating, skiing, etc. that's on tonight.

No cabin fever here. I wish I would be confined inside instead of pulling weeds, fertilizing, trimming, etc. Winter never arrived in So. CA.

Re: Cabin fever.......Anyone else?

I look at things in an entirely different way. Yes, most of us are experiencing a particulary eventful winter. There are millions of people who have very long commutes to and from work and wind up spending several hours daily commuting when the weather is really bad. I am grateful I don't have that commute. People that do probably wish they could experience "cabin fever". Winter is a season, seasons come and go. Soon enough people will be complaining how hot, how humid it is. I don't at all wish my life away. Winter is beautiful. And if you are posting here you have the internet which means a roof over your head. Gratitude. Just poke your head out the door and take in your surroundings. Have people over to your house. Go out somewhere, anywhere when it is not snowing. Visit friends, people who are less fortunate. Take an online class. Winter is also THE best time to do things in your home, your environment to freshen things up. Doesn't cost a thing. There are tons of things to do to make yourself happy. Just need, want the desire to do so. Noone is going to do it for you.

Re: Cabin fever.......Anyone else?

No cabin fever for me because I don't have the luxury of staying indoors when it snows. Yes, of course, I stay in when the snow is coming down heavily and the forecast is for serious snow fall. But once the roads are clear and public transportation is up and running, it's off to work for me. Even as I write this, I look out my window and it's snowing. Snowed yesterday. Snowed the day before too. But all this snow has put a crimp in our socializing. I don't even remember the last time we went out for an evening, I think it was shortly after Christmas.

It was 48 here today and I went out and had lunch then got my hair cut and highlighted. It was really nice to get out of the house. It is expected to be warm tomorrow then turn cold again. Winter is still with us.

Re: Cabin fever.......Anyone else?

We had one 40 degree day today. Tomorrow we are back to frozen rain and snow, followed by several below zero evenings. To put I mildly, I've got cabin fever!!

Yesterday we had more snow! Today we had ice and lots of it. Sleet, freezing rain, more sleet, more freezing rain. Black ice. It was awful. In the afternoon the temp rose to 42. Tonight will go down to 20 so more freezing by morning. 30 days till spring ... I am ready.

Boy, you said everything I have been thinking. Gratitude is right. I try to remember to be thankful as God commands us in these situations; at least most of us have a good warm home.and food on the shelves. Not so for the people who have been killed or suffered in these storms. Before long it will be "too hot to go outdoors". I have been trying to brush up on delayed notes to my friends who have been sick or lost loved ones. How about calling those we know who are lonely and are homebound all the time? Your comments here have been like a breath of fresh air Surviveone; my kind of gal..

Re: Cabin fever.......Anyone else?

I've only had to stay inside one day, so I'm okay. Getting outside, even a little bit, is key.
