sells beer and wine in our stores here in Ga. At least I can pick up my no drinking taking these medications and pick me up a few 12 packs on my way out.

Um not in the same category at all. In moderation there is nothing wrong with having a drink or a cold beer or a glass of wine. In fact some will say it's beneficial. There is no such thing as moderation with smoking and there is nothing beneficial about it!

So you want them to stop selling beer and wine too. Perhaps you should also ask them to stop selling cleaning supplies , razor blades etc. They kill too.

As long as OP doesn't drink that 6-pack while she sits in the parking lot before driving home, I'm okay with the liquor. Moderation, moderation, moderation.
Kudos to CVS for giving up the cigarette income - which probably also affects their beer income because so many of the heavier drinkers are also smokers and they often like to buy where they can get both easily.

When I attended a smoking cessation class a few years ago, one thing they told us was to give up habits that we related to smoking, such as having coffee or an adult beverage, with a cigarette. If others follow suit, CVS won't be selling much alcohol.

So VCamp2748 : on the smoking cessation class.
Have you been able to stick with it? Never quit quitting!

nekodaisy, i was JUST thinking about this the other day and found it a bit ironic. in maryland though they dont sell alcohol in pharmacies or drugstores or convenience stores or at gas stations. alcohol is only sold at liquor stores and some restaurants have packaged goods licenses.

I do wonder how much of their decision to stop selling tobacco was due to the good publicity they knew they would get. Not sure they actually care about anyone's health. If there was a general perception that alcohol (and junk food) were as socially "bad", would they stop selling these items too? Seems to be based on what is trending.

Thanks, scottie! Yes, it was really hard, but I'll be at 3 years next month. I was able to start drinking coffee again after about 6 months. I could tell I turned a corner on it when I thought the smell was stinky instead of inviting whenever I passed someone on the street who was smoking.
