Oh, and by the way, not only did my dad have and died from cancer, my sister who will be 76 in December had a mastectomy done on one of her breasts and went through reconstruction. So, why in the world would I say anything mean about anyone having cancer. That is hitting pretty close to home as far as I'm concerned.

Show Me....the big announcement is about not carrying tobacco. It was another chain that announced it before....Walgreens, I think. There were several threads about it at the time.

I haven't seen the commercial ShowMe is speaking of. But I've seen commercials where a woman looked much older than the age she said she was. She pulled a wig off her head to show a balding head. She had a synthesizer sounding voice box. It looked like she had suffered a stroke as one side of her face was sagging.

And she was pleading with you to not smoke. So she was trying to pass along to others to not go through what she was going through. She was no longer pretty. She wanted you to know that. And I do remember reading that she has since died.

I have no problem with a business that decides that tobacco products will no longer be sold. It's tobacco.

Lucky.....no, it is none of the commercials mentioned in this thread.

And just to set the record straight, I haven't said a word about what CVS sells or doesn't sell...... It was just a commercial that got to me......

Sorry ShowMe! I thought it was about them not selling cigarettes (and cigars...boy are they making a comeback. Young kids are smoking them like crazy. Used to be just old guys.)

I haven't seen the commercial in question. However, I get our prescriptions from CVS Pharmacy and rarely go inside the store to do so. Our new store has a "stop and go window" where I can get new/refill prescriptions. The staff are always competent and courteous and it only takes a few minutes to get the prescription, and I'm on my way.
