I think it's a good discussion. My 30 y/o DD shows me comments & posts on the internet where our seasoned citizens are vilified. Everything in the world is blamed on them. It's almost at the level of hate speech.
The only way we can begin to change hearts is to change our words. Our governor is 77 years old. A judge was recently suspended for referring to her as "Governor MeMaw" several times in public, in court. It's disrespectful.
Not sure if reviews are hateful, I don't read reviews, will QVC take notice, probably not.
As far as odor, I'm 69 & I have body odor. A shower only lasts me maybe 8 hours before I can smell myself. It's embarrassing to me and I know it's from the meds I take.
My 2 cents

any other member of a family. It's hurtful and offensive. Why must we endure the people
who did not like their grandmothers? I loved my grandmothers. If they don't like it, they don't like it, why must it look like "grandma", or smell like "grandma".It should be left out of the reviews as OFFENSIVE, like any other group of people.I have reported this to customer service, yet it is still happening. If grandmas hit "Report", it will stop.
Huh? Honestly, when I first read your post, I thought it was just a joke ... a bad attempt at humor. Maybe not.
First, WHERE did you see this? Item number please. I have never seen a review like this ... and I read a LOT of reviews.
Secondly, I think you are comparing apples to oranges with your comments. Do you really think if someone is criticizing some garment that they think looks matronly it really means they hate their grandmothers? One has NOTHING to do with the other. I don't even understand how you could possibly arrive at that assumption.
Third ... If English is not your first language, I apologize. Maybe you are just not familiar with how that term is occasionally used, and it was an honest mistake. FYI, It can also mean "matronly".
Four .... Not all QVC reviews are helpful ... and some I've read don't even make sense. If you honestly are offended by having to "endure" negative reviews, maybe you need to lay off them for a while. They are upsetting you too much.

If they did they would be grandmas. LOL

@catnip714 I think you need to get a life and find something really important to defend or not- the truth is most of the clothes QVC sells have no style and I would say look matronly- if people choose to use the term grandma that is their choice

@Foxxee wrote:My only explanation is how older women dressed many years ago that's being referred to today. They did dress like grandmas then. Sorry, but there is a distinct grandma style. It doesn't mean all older women dress like that today.
Look at some of the old movies. Actresses from the age of 40 used as older mothers and grandmas were dressed in matronly dresses and low oxford shoes and carried small over the arm handbags. Don't forget the hat with netting. My grandmother dressed that way at around 40. She didn't think it was unfashionable because other women her age and older dressed the same way.
I just saw an old Spring Byington movie the other day. She couldn't have been more than 40 wearing what I'd call grandma dresses.
How Aunt Bee dressed in Andy Griffith Show is a good example.
You make a good point, but a lot of those shows in the 1940's .... that was EIGHTY years ago!
Personally, I think anyone's perception of "grandma styles" is based in large part on your age. If you were born in the 1960s, your perception of a grandma will just be different than those of someone born in 1995. And perceptions change all the time.
Nevertheless, just because someone reviews something that's a bit matronly, it certainly doesn't mean that person hates her grandmother. A little silly to compare the two, IMO.

@catnip714 I do not understand your post. Could you be a little more clear?

Eyeroll. This place is censored enough. You want to control somebody's review of an article of fashion? What if someone wants to censor your comments? I'll bet you were livid during the discussion of "Coastal Grandma" style on the Belle show.
