@Susan Louise  et al.  The waste water was tested in a university town close to where I live.  It revealed that there was COVID in the community although no one there had tested positive.

The occurrence led medical professionals to immmediatwly ramp up testing in the town and get a handle on the virus before it got out of control.  Once it was found in the waste water there were pop up testing sites immediately deployed to deal with it.

Testing waste water is a good thing,  I am in Nova Scotia.  S.

@Lilysmom1  I couldn't agree more.

Add this to the long list of things to be mindful of during the pandemic...

I'm sure this is happening nationwide...especially in hotspots. The article I just read:

"Coronavirus traces found in Mass. wastewater reach highest levels yet of the fall surge"

@Susan Louise   While I appreciate your thread, and I am aware of this situation in MA, I think it would have been better had you expanded on this situation.  The post is left open-ended and does not include a full explanation.  People only read one sentence and think the worst.

However, MA is having a surge and field hospitals are being ordered in two cities-Lowell and Worcester.

I have not kept up today so I will go back and read updates on this situation.

And yes, people can Google but posting a credible source would help.

@Cakers3  I see your point, but I can't control others who choose only to read a sentence or two. I shouldn't have to write everything out. I just put the title of the article in my OP and not the link itself because folks would complain about that too...saying they don't click on links.

Then there are those who complain about lengthy posts...or when one does take the time to explain everything, some folks choose to skim or only read a sentence or two that way as well. That has happened many times. Posters would ask me a question or make a statement and the info was right there in my post.

Re: COVID detected in wastewater - Mass.

I'm not worried about it. My plate is already full of enough concerns. But no, I'm not "over" the pandemic and won't be until it's over itself.
