Just saw this on the news. What gives ? It's a time to spend together and celebrate your marriage. Makes me think of the song "What's love got to do with it? " I would much rather spend the time with my new Husband ! What do you think?

@Goodie2shoes A local talk show was discussing this last night. IMO it's just stupid. We had a simple 3 day honeymoon and it was wonderful.
I can't imagine even bothering to have a honeymoon without the one you love.

Lonely.

Would this be termed an 'open' honeymoon?

Nothing the "ME, ME" generation does surprises me anymore.
That said, Just who is it who raised the 'me, me' generation? Hummm???
I think it's all beginning to trickle down. My generation (I'm 72) worked hard (as did my parent's generation) to give a better life to my/their children (which we did).
However, somewhere along the line...we (someone) went overboard and this is the result.
It's no longer about us, it's about me/myself and I. All about self-satisfaction.
I guess the excitement, fun and (whatever) would have to be be split in half and that means sharing....obviously, someone doesn't want to share....anything.
Thank goodness I haven't seen any of this (insert your own word for going potty).
I remember that every time my late husband went somewhere amazing on a business trip. The first words out of his mouth when he called from there were, "I can't wait to take you and the girls here to see it".
All of us widows know what I'm talking about when we realize there's no longer anyone to turn to and say, "Remember when we saw (or did) this and that". Those who have children have shared memories of trips, incidents, etc.
Just who would these people turn to when they want to relive and enjoy memories of the honeymoon?
It all goes back to "it's all about me"....

Red Flag.....

It’s the baby boomers that were famously described as the me, me generation, which most likely includes you, @Annabellethecat66.
I bet it’s a very small number of couples that go on separate honeymoons.

Why get married?

Sounds like it could potentially be a good way to extend the life of the marriage.
