I really can't imagine why anyone would go to the trouble of going to Costco just for a hot dog or slice of pizza.  Is it that good?!

I'm a member and buy plenty but never had the desire to buy something to eat there.

I used to work across the street from a Costco. Went there often for lunch. Where else can you eat for under $2.00?

Lol you are so right

What they are trying to stop is membership sharing where someone buys a membership but let other people use their membership card without them being there with them.  When you show your membership card to get in, they don't check the picture on the back.  They now do check the picture on the back when you check out.  I don't know how the scanners will work to verify the user.  I think they allow Members to bring a guest and, I guess, allow the guest to piggy-back off the member.  And if a member buys a product for someone who is not a member, they don't care.

@monicakm Many stores have an exit that is separate from the entrance.  You can go into the exit and the Customer Service desk is right there.  If you keep going, you will get to the food court.  There is nobody at the exit checking membership cards, only people checking your cart and receipt.
