Robert Carley is a Connecticut artist who, after 9/11, wanted to record in photos the patriotic spirit of Americans affected by that day.
In the last 20 years, he's journeyed around the country capturing these clever, heart-felt flag-inspired tributes by regular Americans, and his work has been collected and shown in various exhibits.

Locally, in our area we had a farmer, I believe, paint a very meticulous American flag covering the entire roof of one of his farm outbuildings. We could see it every time we drove out in the country between towns, and loved it!
What a great archival project Robert Carley undertook. There's something about seeing his various photographs, all together in the aggregate, sympolizing the indomitable spirit of the American people. To me, inspiring and comforting.
I love to see Americans so patriotic.
Look at this beauty. A Carley, too.
