Bikerbabe: we have the same taste in tv programs. I also liked Bernard Shaw (who was on with his ex-wife) and now I'll watch Anderson Cooper. Jane Velez-Mitchell and Nancy Grace both had identical shows --- and they were always coming on like every story was BREAKING NEWS. I stopped watching both shows a long time ago. There's enough depressing news on the other channels - it's time for some ""interesting"" programming.

Re: CNN Implements Huge Budget Cuts

I've not read this anywhere--but I'm making an assumption that some people and shows are being cut to pay salaries of the people they pulled from ABC and other media. Jake Tapper, John Berman, Chris Cuomo, the lady from fox--can't recall her name just now. They all probably got good raises or opportunities or wouldn't have switched.

Due to CNN's huge budget cuts, Jane Valez-Mitchell's show has been cancelled. There will be more cost cutting it seems. I always liked her show and am sorry to see her go!

While CNN is not my go to network, I always DVR'd Jane's shows because I let the format and her love of animals and helping find "missing people". Don't watch it enough to know other shows they might have dropped before giving Jane the pink slip.

When ratings are not up with the best network some times things have to change. Unfortunately this time it is a show that I liked to watch. Wouldn't surprise me if another network picked up Jane and her type of show, even if it was on during the day time hours. Think CNN and it's sister/brother network, HLN, need to get those live trials back again. I don't know this for a fact, but I think a lot of people liked watching and doing the DVR thing on the "live trials(aka-CA and Jodie). Think they lost a good number of viewers when they dropped the trial coverage.

I just wonder how many episodes of Forensic Files they'll be airing. Also, I noticed that they will fill Jane's slot with another episode of Nancy Grace for a while. What do you think will happen to Dr. Drew's show?

I hope it stays put. That is yet another show I always DVR. I like his format and the way it keeps up with differing views of very current events. If they drop that show? I won't have a single reason to turn my channel to CNN or HLN ever again. Can't stand Nancy and I think I have seen all the Forensic File episodes.

If he is gone guess I will stick with my go to cable network for everything.

Re: CNN Implements Huge Budget Cuts

I used to watch more of CNN during the afternoon hours, but I just can't take any more of Brook Baldwin. Not sure why she finds in necessary to hike her skirts up so high, none of the other females I've seen on that channel seem to do that. Hard to take her seriously.

CNN really is a snooze fest. The new shows R horrible! Anthony Bourdain, Lisa Ling, Mike Rowe, Death Row, CNN Heros, all the "Roots" stories. Stale, tired, over it!

We watched Nancy Grace every night when the Casey Anthony trial was on. Every day it started out with "BOMBSHELL TONIGHT!!!" LOL. I agree JVM was pretty similar in that regard.

I didn't keep up watching Nancy's show after the trial (or DWTS) because she constantly interrupted, contradicted, and yelled at all of her guests who were doing her the favor by appearing on her show and even at her own correspondents.

One poor woman in particular who reported from court always looked like she was shaking in fear. She always got yelled at too.

I have to laugh every time I see Nancy's current oh, so gentle, commercial ...."And really, that's why I'm here." Smiley Happy
