I question two relatively new posters who came here only to bash Clarks.
I wouldn't be surprised if they were more paid hits like the others we've been getting on Chat.
My post was not to bash Clarks, and I've no idea about the quality of "exclusive for QVC" vs "bought in store." I simply wanted OP to know that I have experienced the same thing with the brand. Other posters are saying likewise. Hopefully the issue with defects has been resolved by Clarks. I like their styles, and Clarks have always fit me well--just not to the place yet where I'm comfortable ordering their brand.

I am not new and not here to bash either. I have bunions and have trouble finding wide shoes that don't hurt my feet. I have many pairs of Clarks in the boxes in my closet and until today thought this problem was just my case. This is very shocking. I too grabbed a few boxes and put them into my suitcase to wear on vacation only to discover they had fallen apart in the box and then had to buy shoes to wear to the function. I just attributed it to living in the humid deep south.

I have over 20 pairs of Clarks - which I purchased 5 to 10 years ago. I had 3 pairs of Clarks Clogs (accordian heel) where the leather tops separated from the souls. This happened around 2-3 years ago. I have many pairs of shoes and I never wear any of them out --- so for this to happen is unusual. Since I have many pairs of shoes, I only wore each pair around 5 times a month.
This also happened to me with a pair of White Mountain Clogs purchased from the Q - which I owned for approx. 7 years.
I own 4 pairs of Etienne Aigner leather closed shoes, which are 13 years old - and they're perfect.

Hmmm....I live in the humid deep South too, but my closets have the same AC as the rest of my house. Anyone living up North had their Clarks fall apart?

I do not buy Clarks anymore, especially from the Q. They are not the same. Maybe it is the style. You know how Clarks has so many sub brands (styles) under the Clark name. Used to be you bought Clarks, and well you bought Clarks plain and simple. They do not wear right anymore, I have also had trouble with "ungluing", and the sizing is awful it is NOT consistant. Whether I bought them here, Nordies, or zappos, shoebuy, or amazon. I usuually bought Nordie though. . Now I haven't bought a pair in 2 years because my experince was so bad. I have a pair of Clarks sandals going back maybe 15 years. I didn't wear them much. But wow, they have actual leather soles, and I still whip them out every summer for a special occasion!!! LOL! Anyway, I refuse to buy them, although I tempted. And from QVC? no way! I am not paying 12 dollars to get and return them because they do not fit. JMHO.

Indoor Kitty: I bought 2 pairs of Born shoes - closed leather penny-loafer types. Had them for several years - and didn't wear them often - and had the same problem.: Tops separated from the soul of both pairs. Happened walking down the stairs in my house. So glad I was home. You could also google: Born Shoes Complaints

This has nothing to do with the wearer being hard on their shoes, I think Clarks had a production issue that resulted in this situation.

Yes, other posters have reported they contacted CS at Clark's and received refunds. I'm sure they're aware of the problem.

@Noel7 Unfortunately over the years, we've heard this story too many times. The fact that Clarks is also aware of the problem also adds credibility

This thread is quite timely for me! Just a few days ago I had a Clarks clog come apart on me while I was wearing them. To be fair, this particular pair got trudged through a swampy field once and dried caked in mud. (It was dark and I didn't see the water as I stupidly cut through the grass.) Prior to this I have actually had to get rid of a couple of pairs that still looked perfectly good because I couldn't get the stink out of them. About a year ago, my mother had a pair fall apart while she was wearing them. She'd only been wearing them for about 20 years! We were almost giddy to discover that Clarks actually can die! I guess the newer ones are not nearly as well-made as the old ones. (Same with about everything, unfortunately.)

No one repeatedly buys shoes with such poor quality, If so, I question the reason why someone would submit themselves to such buying of low quality shoes repeatedly. Perhaps it is time to take the money cards away and put someone else in charge of the shoe buying at this house.
