Just No. You need to talk to the Manager- You should not have to pay again, when it was their mistake today-

Ridiculous, amount of labor costs and time spent. Hope you were able to relax a bit and maybe catch up on things, i.e. on phone or other device?
Sorry you had to spend a good part of your day there, hope you have a good dinner planned, and maybe a nice glass of wine if you are inclined

That makes me sick to find out how badly you were treated. I don't know how these dealerships can get by with all the garbage they're pulling on people.
I did notice not one single customer was there shopping for a car, but the garage and waiting area was overflowing with customers. I'm doing exactly what you did once this is over. I'll never be back there again.

As luck would have it, I brought my iPad just in case. I'm sure glad I did too! I spent most of the day here on the forum talking to my friends. I watched a bit of Q2 on my app as well.😃❤️
I was too tired to go in anywhere for a nice dinner, so I picked up some takeout and brought home for everyone. The glass of wine is calling my name lol. I rarely drink, but I need something to calm down mentally a little tonight.🤪

@cheriere - I told the dealership manager that, if it only takes a mechanic around an hour to replace the brakes, and they're estimating for 3 1/2 hours, they must have a lot of incompetent mechanics!
One of my brothers was a professional mechanic, so I wasn't some "little woman" that they could bamboozle. Burn me once... ![]()
And, sorry to say, they do tend to do it to women.
(Oh, and they "get by with it" because most people don't know the first thing about their vehicles; how they work, how to tell if something's wrong; whether it's major or minor.)

@cheriere I try to never be rude, I worked in customer service for years, but my dear mom always said, what's the worst they can say? No. So that did help me learn to speak up. I know it can be hard. Hope they can get it worked out and get it fixed for you.

@cheriere Sorry you had to go through this. I dread having to take my car in for anything for this very reason. On Thursday, one of my kids was driving home and his dashboard indicated that one of his tires had low tire pressure. Mind you, he had just gotten an oil change at the dealer 5 days previously and all was well.
So he stopped at a Goodyear Center to check out the tire and get a patch, if need be. A $45. patch. I can remember not too long ago when they were "only" $28. But I digress. According to them, the nail was too close to the sidewall. But actually I come to find out, it actually was not close to the sidewall at all, it was near the center of the tire. But they insisted otherwise and said they wouldn't patch it and would have to buy a new tire.
And of course they didn't have the tire in stock and would have to order it and take care of it the next day. And they needed him to.prepay.... to the tune of almost $500 as it is a special size tire for his sports car and by the time they add on balancing, tire disposal, shop fee, taxes, etc, it made the $45. patch look like a bargain. So, he paid .....what choice did he have....he felt if they thought it was too close to the sidewall, he was afraid another place would tell him the same thing. So I chauffeured him around till he got his car back the next day.
I wish I was there with him when he first took it in. I really feel they took advantage of him as he has autism and is too trusting.

That's how my dad felt about this job and the amount of time they claimed it took. Before retiring, he was director of transportation for a large county. He basically spent all day in a garage because that's were his office was located. He knew a lot of tricks dealerships pull too, especially with women.
I'm gonna pray and hope for the best. But, I will take him back with me.😃

We drive Toyotas. Our dealership gives car washes and has a cold drink bar in the waiting room.

When I had my hip replaced last June, they made me take a magic marker and sign my name on the side to be replaced ( ON my hip area skin!!!)
I thought it was odd....now reading this account, maybe not so much!!!!
( I bet they photographed it before they made the first cut!!!)
