Please don't worry.  This has happened to me before.  Just call customer service.  They are very helpful.  Explain what happened.  They will make a notation in your account.  When the package arrives, just retrurn as normal.  You will not be charged for the return or the return label fee.  If by chance you are charged, just call and you will received a refund very quickly.  Much more quickly than a normal refund.

Just write "REFUSED" on the box and send it back unopened, and you won't get charged for shipping.

It's a simple and easy as that.

Nothing to get all bent out of shape over.

Customer Service has refunded the original shipping charges and not charged the return shipping cost when this has happened to me.  Just call them and I'm sure they will work it out for you.

Exactly.

It isn't a perfect world. No one is trying to ruin our lives. This kind of thing happens and, yes it is a bit annoying. But that is so easily taken care of by simply calling CS & explaining what happened. They always apologize and cover the return shipping. - It really isn't worth getting so upset over.

@Plaid Pants2  ...

Not so simple.  I refused a package for this very reason ... when, after what seemed like weeks, I didn't get a notice of return, I emailed CS ... and here was the response:

"Please note that refusing delivery slows down the return and refund process, because it is being sent back to the Distribution Center -- not to the designated Returns facility.  We usually suggest that the package be opened and the enclosed return instructions be followed ..."

I've never had anything shipped after I canceled, but the response has varied.  One time I got an email right away confirming that I had canceled.  But another time, it took a couple of days before I got the email.  I was definitely thinking that one might ship anyway.  The only thing I can think of is that they don't know exactly how far along something is in the shipping process.

I placed an order and went to cancel .. it says they process orders too quickly so they cannot guarantee that it will not ship.. are you kidding me .. most of my orders take at least three days before it shipping. so they said check back in two or three days.. come on now. give me a break QVC
